Not really the issue. The virus problem can't be stomped out
by purely technical measures, or by swamping the wires with
misdirected alerts.

I presume you mean "may -have- come from a different address"?
This is already being done, but it isn't good enough. It's amateur,
confusing, and throws the problem back at the message recipient.
It continues to generate loads of redundant email and results in
increased user support load on the local helpdesk/administrator.
It doesn't stop exchanges of the
"You sent me a virus"/"I don't have a virus"/"Yes you do" persuasion.
