RE: Article Announcement: Can Microsoft End Spam?
If I may make one more loosely off-topic response to this announcement.
Instead of spending squillions researching database spam filtering
technologies and other value added components to MS and other products,
why not just *educate* new computer users? Explain to new users what
spam (and to keep it on topic), malware and other hazards of Internet
use are and explain how to avoid becoming a victim. With proper
education, the successful hit-rate of spam may diminish to a point where
it is no longer profitable. I think we tech people sometimes think that
the only way to beat technology is with technology. Edjamacayshun is a
far more cost-effective measure in my opinion.
Cheers,
Brad
