RE: NAV - deleting viruses from the Quarantine

You can do this easily with 7.5 and 7.6. I have not used 8.x management as yet, but I'm assuming its pretty much the same.

In the management console tree (left side), right-click the Parent Server and choose All Tasks>, Logs>, Virus History. This window shows all virus detections from all clients under that parent server, as well as the server's detections. Scroll horizontally, and you will see the system names that each virus was detected on.

Select all items and click the "X" (delete) button. SSC will then try to contact each system and delete the viruses. You may get errors indicating one of two things: either the system is off or the virus was already deleted, which often happens if the virus resides in the IE cache folders.

Note that this does not delete viruses in Central Quarantine; that would have to be done from the Central Quarantine section.

Hope it helps.

Glenn Pearl
