Libnet 1.1.0 configure errors

('binary' encoding is not supported, stored as-is)

I have been trying to install Libnet 1.1.0 on Linux Mandrake8.1 and Linux Redhat 7.3. In both cases I got the error configure :1445 :24 : sys/sockio.h : no such file or directory configure : failed program was :
#line 1444 "configure"
#include "confeds.h "
#include<sys/sockio.h>"

I already know the versions listed above do now contain this file and in the libnet.h file the sockio.h is to be ignored if it is not found. However any help in sorting out this problem will be will be greatly appreciated.
