Can anyone share how you would take a command line arugment as a char, and convert it to a hex value (u_long)?

For example...You want to pass in the transaction id from the command line like 0x1234567, and use it for a DHCP Discover packet.

I have tried doing typecasts, but couldnt get it to work...if you got a quick fix it would be wonderful...

Happy Holidays
