tcpreplay/libnet error

Sup all - new to the list, searching the archives didn't yield any answers.

I'm trying to install the latest version of tcpreplay (1.3 stable) along with libnet 1.1. Everything compiled and installed without any problems, however when I try to run tcpreplay on any interface I get the following error:

Can't open <interface>: libnet_select_device(): Can't find interface <interface>

doing a tcpreplay -V gives me:

# tcpreplay -V
tcpreplay version: 1.3.0
Compiled against libnet: 1.1.0

I can tcpdump on the interfaces, I mean they are up and usable and everything...

I googled the archives, but the only time this error was discussed was when someone wanted to play traffic on the loopback...

the system I'm installing on is FreeBSD 4.5 release.

Do you need help?X

If anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be cool.
