Personally, I am not in favor of making this name change. While I agree
in some cases it may be a bit painful to migrate from libnet-1.0 to
libnet-1.1, this is what I am trying to encourage people to do across
the board. I do not plan to support or develop on libnet-1.0 any more at
all (although I suppose I will accept and roll-in any useful patches I
receive). I want libnet-1.1 to become the standard libnet platform upon
which we all build.
And yes, having an application support both libnets is ugly and a royal
pain in the ass, which is why I have included a migration document with
the libnet distribution. It's not TOO painful in most cases.
That being said, I am open to additional discussion if someone can come
up with a solid plan for making both camps happy.
Finally, let me apologize for my radio silence. I have been juggling
all manner of objects lately and this one fell on the floor. :( I plan
on getting back into the mix here and releasing new code soon, with all
of Frédéric Raynal's patches, and then some. And just let me thank
Frédéric Raynal for his wonderful work in the face of my apparent
sabbatical.
