Checksums

('binary' encoding is not supported, stored as-is)

I am just wondering if there is a function to return find the checksum for a header before it is sent down the wire..... for example i want to find to calculate a udp's headers checksum so i can compare the returned checksum in a icmp unreachable.

Is there anyway this can be done without the need of making a pseudo struct and finding the checksum of that?
