Java and libnet

Has anyone developed a Java interface to libnet yet? libpcap is set. I Googled and found a couple attempts at libnet but nothing that even had any code posted. I ask because I'm considering writing one and don't want to duplicate effort.

Also, does anyone have tips for running libnet on OS X 10.2? Browsing through the archives, I noticed some X users on here. Is it mandatory to patch the kernel?
