Re: 1.1.1 RC5 build error on Linux/2.4.20 + shared objs
From: proletariat <prole(at)redgeek.net>
Date: Sun Jul 06 2003 - 19:32:06 EDT Cool. I assume these'll get commited prior to release? Also, attached is a patch for building a libnet shared object using libtool. Some auto{conf, make} stuff will need to be rebuilt: $ tar zxvf libnet-1.1.1-RC-005.tar.gz $ cd Libnet-1.1.1-RC-005 $ patch -p0 < ../libnet-shared.patch $ aclocal $ libtoolize --force $ autoconf (will issue a deprecation warning) Then go through the standard build process (--{dis,en}able-shared and --{dis,en}able-static are now available to ./configure, both on by default), which should execute automake that will also issue some deprecation warnings. I've been ignoring them. The various libraries will be left in src/.libs, I haven't patched 'make install' to look there, much less do the various ldconfig-type library merging. Oh, BTW, these patches are based off the "official" 1.1.1 RC5 tree, I haven't had time to check out your stuff yet. _p
