maybe i should insert a sanity check that make the function always fail when called upon an l that is of type LIBNET_LINK... otherwise somebody could rely on it, see it work well when the fd is a socket and it won't work in the same way when the fd is not a socket.

and with raw sockets you can tune the buffer size, isn't it? what about the 1024 bytes limit in Linux? can you go below in BSD? thank you very much indeed
