3.5p1 and mm_maloc error on Solaris-2.5.1

this is the error after installing 3.5p1 on solaris-2.5.1 against OpenSSL-0.9.6g w/ /dev/random support:

Nov 12 21:58:14 Sun-E3000 sshd[26210]: fatal: mm_malloc: size too big

does this has to do with the random generator within OpenSSL? i searched google but couldn't find anything relating to this issue.
