Hi,
Openssh is downloadable in rpm version on the ibm site. You might need the filutils package, also downloadable at the same place. So you don't have to recompile...

Subject: make install problems on AIX

Dear List,

I searched the archives for the openssh-devel for help with my installation problems. I did not have any luck. I am turning to this list in the hope that someone out there can help me out.

I am trying to install openssh 3.5 on AIX 4.3.3.

I installed egd 0.9 after the make install script failed with:

exec(): Cannot load program ssh-rand-helper because of the following errors:

The alignment of the .text section does not satisfy its required alignment

Examine file headers with the 'dump -ohv' command.

Even with egd running and with rerunning configure with the
--with-prngd-socket=/etc/entropy or

I still get the same error. I was hoping the ssh-rand-helper error would go away if I instructed openssh to use egd instead.

If someone could point me in the right direction, or even explain what they mean by examining file headers with the dump command, I would be grateful.

Thanks,
Chris
