Ask them "In what way is it wrong?". :-)

A problem I had in transfering a key from server to server was CRLF. The key should be one line. The receiving server showed multiple lines.   VI and a few "SHIFT + j" fixed that. Although my problem probably came from the fact I was cutting and pasting between windows...

You could ask them to send the same key back to you to see if it was changed during transfers.
