BatchMode: limit commands, prevent shell?

I was kind of confused. I set the PATH in ~user/.bashrc to just one special directory, but can I chroot the login there?

Running `exit` at the top of ~user/.bash_profile seems to prevent a shell login, but is that safe? Maybe a split-second before running exit, could ^C interrupt sourcing of .bash_profile?
