You need to use "scp -f filename" in your forced command at the server end. A little gem missing from the man pages and revealed by observing what processes are running on the server during an scp operation :-)

Note that this overrides the filename used on the command line

  • the file retreived will always be the one specified in the "scp -f filename" construct. If this is what you want to achieve, then that's OK.
