Putty Crashes at login !!

I think someone can help me here...  

When I try to connect to my server, that is running openssh 3.4p1, with the lastest putty version it connects to the server... ok ... ask for the login, but after I put root or any other user and press enter the putty crashs !! And even asks for a password...  

Sometimes I connect to the server with no problem with putty but now i`m getting this "bug"...  

I think it`s because a portscan that i made in my server to test the open ports... I don`t know if this portscan that really makes putty crashing but....  

Somebody could help me
