SSH ping?

Hi,
I use SSH to connect from my PC to two different Solaris 8 machines. They are both running sshd version 3.1p1.

ssh -v says "OpenSSH_3.1p1, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0x0090603f"

Their configurations (/usr/local/etc/sshd_config) are the same except for one of them using the "Banner" keyword and the other is not.

Still they don't behave the same. Every 900 seconds one of them is
"pinging" my client and the other is not. I have laborated with the
"ClientAliveInterval" but this does not look the same. Actually I like
the "pinging" every 900 seconds since it keeps ssh session alive through my firewall, but I want to know what is going on.

Any clues to what is going on?

Thanks in advance!
