You need to create the initial log file.

As root:
touch /var/adm/sshlog

You can also just do info, instead of debug in /etc/syslog.conf: auth.info /var/adm/authinfo.log

(and then of course "touch /var/adm/authinfo.log" or whatever you name it)

debug will probably log a lot of info.
