Hate stating the obvious and almost sure you tried it, but how does quoting the command (ie. "$PVM_ROOT/lib/pvmd -s -n192.168.1.6 1 c0a80105:090b 4080 2 c0a80106:000") influence this? Depends on your shell of course what kind of quotes work.

Hope my e-mail client didn't f***-up the quotes ;-)
