Re: Account lockout
From: <befting(at)ethernet.org>
Date: Tue Jan 14 2003 - 09:47:58 EST Hello Alex, Check the logs on the DC's (you do have Security Auditing turned on, right?) Look for event 644 with the account being locked out in the description. I usually filter on event and then do a search for the UID. The machine from which the account was locked out will be listed in this event. This is a way to find the culprit (even if it is only a service or something.) I'm guessing that since this account is locking out it is not the default "administrator" account, correct? I would think that if you change an account password, logging off and back on again should be all you need to do. You shouldn't really have to reboot, though, if you have more than one DC you should be able to reboot without affecting domain logins.
Good luck,
