RE: is it possible to control one app from another?

Howdy!

Here's the scenario. I have a website. I have an activex script called launchinie.dll and it has been installed and allowed to run on a computer. The website calls this activex script and starts up the program that utilizes the IE dll's. Would this scenario work?

Thank you,
John Cole

If the window you wish to control is another browser that you have opened up, in code, within the controlling browser than yes.

otherwise, no (i imagine), not unless the permissions on the controlling window are such that it can use activeX to chat to the other windows by sending them messages.

Howdy all!

Do you need help?X

I'm just wondering if it is possible to have a script in 1 IE (5.0/5.5/6.0) window control functions in another program that utilizes the IE dll files for displaying information.

Any links, code, or documentation about this would be appreciated.

Thank you,
John Cole, TICSA
