I think this conversation has been touched upon yesterday. Anyway here
goes again: Try to get some practical experience first and foremost. As
for certs there is a mix of conceptual vs practical on the security
scene.
Take a look at:
- CCIE Security - www.cisco.com/education - hands-on techie security
- Expert Security Associates (ESA) - www.securityassociate.org -
practical hacking, forensics and design
- CISSP - www.isc2.org - conceptual management level, maybe in a few
years.
