Looking for some advice

I have become deeply interested in Computer Forensics and I am taking courses to become a Computer Forensics Examiner. I have noticed that most, if not all, of the people I talked to about Computer Forensics are coming from a Law Enforcement background and that they were police or FBI or CIA officers prior to joining corporate America. Since I have been working as a programmer in a financial institution, corporate America type position, what are my chances of getting in the Computer Forensics field? How can I secure an internship, even a non-paid or volunteer, work to be mentored by someone who is doing Computer Forensics investigations so that I can have some experience before I go for a job as a Computer Forensics Examiner. I am hoping to secure this internship in Law Enforcement because I think this is going to give me the most exposure to the type of cases that involve Computer Forensics investigations. Ideally this internship would be within travel distance from San Francisco CA. Thanks in advance. Wassim Sign Up for Juno Platinum Internet Access Today Only $9.95 per month!
