Responsibilities (Technical Assurance):

Works independently, designs and implements assessments based on business needs and scope. Conducts technical audits of the security architecture. Supports Technical Assurance process. Assessments include but not limited to critical network devices such as firewalls, routers, switches, hubs, gateways, critical servers and applications. Inputs to technical and administrative threat management policies that support the Security Model. Overall responsibility is as follows:

 Advise system and project owners on methodology best used in assessment. Write scope letters on assessment planning and interact with Internal Audit on plans and results. Hold project managers and system owners accountable for responses to your results and generate metrics of accomplishments.

Assessments should include but not be limited to:
- Identification, Authentication, Non-Repudiation

• Access control
• Data ownership and recognition of confidentiality
• Confidentiality and integrity
• Missing patches required by security alerts
• Network systems and components
• Inter/intranet and firewall security
• Missing poorly configured anti-virus detection software
• Observations and input on business resumption planning and backup/restoration of systems
• Observations and input on inadequate physical data security
• Security data management and administration
• Software repository and application source code management

Experience/Skills:

7+ years data processing experience with concentration in data access management, data base technologies, and operating systems in distributed and centralized application-processing environments.
