To Whom It May Concern:  

        I am interested in applying for a position in the NY Tri-state area. As the Forensic Lead for the Marine Corps, I manage a team of 3 Investigators, 1 Law Enforcement agent from the Naval Criminal Investigation Services and 1 Legal advisor. This team makes up the Computer Crimes Team section of the Marine Emergency Response Team. The MCCT provides the Marine Corps with timely, unbiased evidence examination, intrusion analysis and operational support focused on the forensic analysis of computer network security incidents, criminal cases and counter-intelligence investigations. The MCCT, teamed with the Marine Forces Integrated Network Operations, the MARCERT, and the NCIS Communities, help ensure information superiority for the war fighter. The MCCT has performed numerous Forensic Investigations for the Marine Corps, the NCIS and the Department of Justice.  

        My other responsibilities with the MARCERT have been to fill the role as a Senior Information Security Analyst for the Network Operation Center. My tasks that go along with being a Senior Analyst for the NOC include the Supervision of Incident handling, Incident data accruement and Development and Implementation of Security policies throughout the Marine Corps Enterprise Network. I am also a consultant in the areas of Intrusion Detection, Network Monitoring, Vulnerability Assessment and Data Analysis.

My experience includes:

  • 8 years of IT and IA experience
  • Information Security Analyst and Lead Forensic Specialist for the Marine Computer Crimes Team/ Marine Computer Emergency Response Team. This service is provided to over 180,000 Marines worldwide.
  • Well versed in various Intrusion Detection systems i.e. ISS, Snort and Dragon
  • Well versed in various vulnerability assessment tools and packet analyzers to include ISS internet Scanner, Cybercop, Windump, Ethereal, Etherpeak
  • Specialist in Forensic analysis of electronic media, collecting and cataloging evidence, reporting results to senior security personnel, and interfacing with local and federal law enforcement agencies
  • Well versed in Forensic applications and software suites used for forensic analysis and evidence cataloging i.e. Encase, Safeback, TCT
  • Performed numerous forensic investigations for DOD organizations.
  • Project Mgr. for configuration and implementation of Infrastructure used locally and globally.
  • Served on an NT migration team migrating over 10 separate LAN's from Banyan 7.12 to Win NT 4.0 and Exchange 5.5 This transition provided a user base of over 10,000 Marines an upgraded service to accomplish there organization goals more efficiently.
  • US Government Secret Security clearance
  • Extensive organizational and analytical ability with project management
