Educational Relationship Representative

Symantec is seeking an individual to manage existing relationships, and to develop new relationships with North American and Worldwide educational institutions. This position will involve being the key point of contact between the Symantec DeepSight Threat Management System, and the educational institution. This includes working with Educational facilities to bring them on to the Symantec DeepSight Analyzer system as a Preferred Data Partner (http://analyzer.securityfocus.com/Documents/DP.pdf).

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of educational network environments, including concerns and policies
• Excellent communication skills, in particular excellent telephone manner and excellent business writing skills
• Technical understanding with Intrusion Detection and Firewall technologies; networking concepts
• Enjoying working with people, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently are essential for this position
• The ability to travel, if required

Preferred:

• Strong relationships in the academic network security world
• Experience as an implementer in said environment
• Previous sales experience and awareness
