Intrusion Detection Engineer (NFR) Job Opening

This position is for a 1 year contract in Washington DC. Experience with the NFR IDS system is a MUST. Salary is 90-95k. The Scope of this position:
· Identify attack signatures
· Detect malicious data on networks
· Operate in a passive or reactive mode. In a passive mode, the
IDS detects a potential security breach, logs the information and signals an alert. In a reactive mode, the IDS responds to the suspicious activity by logging off a user or by reprogramming the firewall to block network traffic from the suspected malicious source
· Analyze the information it gathers and compare it to large
databases of attack signatures. The anomaly detector will monitor network segments to compare their state to the normal baseline and look for anomalies  

The WAN Security Project team will perform the following activities in support of IDS product acquisition and deployment:
· Support the acquisition of IDS software and hardware, including
assisting in the preparation of solicitation materials and coordinating product demonstrations

· Collect and analyze IDS data
· Respond to incidents
· Coordinate with the Computer Emergency Response Team and the
