Position: IT Security Officer - Baltimore, MD

IT Security Officer -- based in Baltimore -- full relocation provided

   New position with a global Fortune 500 company.    Reports to the CIO -- close working relationship with the Director-Internal Audit.

   Salary $85,000 to $95,000 plus bonus of 10 to 20%    Travel, US/global: 20-30%

MUST have prior experience with primary responsibility for IT security.

Requires experience in all aspects of information security:

• Strategic business and information security solutions planning experience.
• Strong working knowledge of IT security for SAP, WindowsNT/2000, local and wide area networks, internet (firewalls, TCP/IP), etc.
• Provide guidance and support on all aspects of information security policies, procedures, systems and technology
• Responsible for the implementation of controls and procedures to cost-effectively protect corporate-wide information systems assets.
• Analyze user needs and risk relative to security considerations.
• Establish policies and procedures across the organization for logical security (e.g., password controls, software configuration controls, etc.) for each component of the technology architecture (e.g., application, LAN, WAN, remote access, internet, email, operating system, database, interfaces, etc.).
• Accountable for security and access controls for all technologies (i.e. within and across SAP instances in other applications, for database, network, Internet, remote access, IT physical security, and all technology platforms).
• Address security needs involving development and change control processes for programs, data. and configuration.
• Coordinate between HR, platform security administrators, and business units to ensure controls are in place.
• Facilitate security awareness education and training for IT staff and users.
• Initiate evaluation of new security technologies and products to determine appropriateness for supporting business and strategic plans, examining compatibility, functionality, integration, cost, and benefit to Company operations
