Position Responsibilities
* Perform 3rd level customer and Security Operations Center (SOC)
support for Cisco 4200 series Sensors and the Catalyst 6000 series IDS Module (IDSM).
* Architect, document, implement, and support Cisco IDS in an
Enterprise environment across multiple network configurations through direct contact with end customers throughout the Sales and Provisioning processes.
* Development of IDS policies and best practices.

• Change management responsibility based on customer requests for device configuration changes.
• Regular updates of field security equipment with new releases, signatures, and patches including the creation of custom signatures and as well as defining intrusion detection signature settings and responses based on current vulnerabilities.
• Will support the system analysis of data supplied by the IDS logs and reports for possible threats and attacks.
• Work with other Departments within Guardent to define, develop, and test the Cisco IDS offering.
• Work with various skill levels throughout Guardent to train and mentor on Guardent's supported Cisco IDS products.
• Generation of Unix scripts to accomplish a variety of configuration and update tasks.
• Additionally perform network design and provisioning of a variety of network security devices including Checkpoint, Netscreen, Cisco PIX, IP Tables, ISS RealSecure, SNORT, Intrusion.com, Tripwire, etc...

Minimum Qualifications/Experience and Education:

• Requires experience providing security including Cisco IDS on large national and/or international or government networks.
• 3-5 years of network system administration with a strong background in Enterprise security devices including but not limited to Checkpoint, Cisco PIX, or Netscreen firewalls running in conjunction with some flavor of IDS such as RealSecure, Cisco IDS, Snort, Dragon, or Tripwire.
• Experience implementing and using Cisco Secure Policy Manager (CSPM) to centrally manage and configure multiple IDS Sensors.
• Strong Intrusion Detection skills and network troubleshooting experience.
• Strong working knowledge of network security.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for both internal communication as well as direct contact with end clients. This is a client facing position.
• Experience with 24x7 operating environments.
• Ability to work well both independently and in a highly collaborative team environment and work well with customers.
• Ability to work occasional weekends and late nights based on client demand and field support requirements
