Senior Application Security Consultant #781 - NY - $100k - $120k

My client is a prestigious investment bank with a world class information security program. A successful candidate must have strong application security skills as well as a collaborative approach. This is a key position on the team with exceptional exposure and upward mobility.

Description:

The candidate for this position will be required to work with and influence developers, development managers, technology peers, and business contacts in regards to technology controls, risk mitigation techniques, and standardized information security solutions for the firm’s and 3rd party applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Contribute to the technical understanding and promotion of new and existing information security standards, solutions and tools.

Demonstrate a passion for and deep understanding of application security and software quality assurance.

Provide clear and concise recommendations and guidance in written and verbal form to both business and technology personnel.

Work effectively across a large information security team, understanding the larger team’s role (network, platform and monitoring) in the overall security strategy of the firm.

Miscellaneous:
-Evaluate and participate in outsourcing initiatives.
-Provide training and advise to junior application security personnel
-Operate and evaluate code scanning and review tools
-Participate in Design, Architecture and Code reviews

Reporting Relationships:

The role reports to the Regional Head of Information Security, Americas (NY)

Other Key Relationships:
-Legal
-DMZ support
-Developer Platform Services
-Security Engineering
-Management Controls Division.

Skills:
-Five to ten years experience in information security or related fields preferred.

Other Information:
-The role may involve infrequent travel to any place the firm operates.
-The nature of the role will involve flexibility to respond to out of hours calls, but is by no means an operations role.
