The Responsibilities
Primary:·	Consolidate, improve, and document IT Security policies,
standards, and procedures throughout the Group;


	·	Group Security Practice advisor on legal and regulatory issues;


	·	Liase with other groups and business units within the Group, including


subsidiaries and joint ventures regarding policies.
Secondary:·	Provide leadership, focus and direction to the security

practitioners throughout the Group on policies and standards; where required provide business and technical direction to projects;

· Provide risk assessment, consultancy and security solution design
services based on company policies, standards and Industry best practice to the Group of companies;

· Conduct IT Security risk assessments across a broad range of products,
infrastructure and technologies. Help create technical strategies and architectures to manage risks identified;

· Support marketing, sales and product development groups to provide
customer assurance on the security aspects of the Group&#x2019;s products and feed back customer concerns.

Skills and Education
Primary· Degree or post-graduate qualification, or comparable in an IT security subject; at least four years in information security or a related discipline;

· significant experience in an environment using a formal information
security management framework, such as BS-7799;

· confident and result driven with a proven track record of delivering
projects;

· excellent planning, organisational and 'soft' skills; self-motivated,
dynamic and able to work with minimal supervision;

· excellent written, oral and presentation skills are essential;
benefit analyses; good negotiation skills;

· able to identify stakeholders and gain their active cooperation;
· able to rapidly gather and assimilate information, including competing
requirements, and make decisions at short notice;

· able to work under pressure and to exacting time scales.
Secondary· experience of dealing with customers, and the ability to build and manage relationships across organisation boundaries;

· excellent knowledge of information security principles, techniques and
technologies and experience of their application to solve real world problems;

· good knowledge of risk management principles and practice within a
business environment;

· excellent IT knowledge including IP networking, computer systems, IT
security technologies, system and device management;· experience in investigating, managing and recovering from IT Security incidents would be an advantage;

· experience in an external customer-facing role would be an advantage;
· experience in an FSA-regulated financial institution would be an
advantage
