We have an immediate opening for a security engineer with an emphasis on penetration testing. This is a permanent position. Salary is dependent on experience. Description is below.

Security Engineer - Penetration Testing

The successful candidate will have 4+ years of network security experience and 2+ years of security auditing and penetration testing experience. This position involves performing audit, assessment, and penetration testing services for commercial and government clients. The successful candidate will be both self-disciplined to work on individual tasks and to work well in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have security experience in most of the following areas:        

  • Prior experience with vulnerability assessment and penetration methods required
  • Intimate knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and networking architectures
  • Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems and security
  • Programming language experience in C/C++, Java, Visual Basic, Perl
  • Knowledge of database, applications, and web server design and implementation
  • Experience with commercial and freeware assessment tools such as ISS Internet Scanner, Nessus, WebInspect, Kismet, Netstumbler, and "hacker tools" on both Windows and Linux platforms required
  • Experience with wireless LAN security (including 802.11 standards)
  • Experience with firewall, VPN and intrusion detection systems
  • Familiarity with the certification and accreditation (C&A) security evaluations process for government agencies, including DITSCAP and NIACAP standards

This position requires research, preparation, and participation in presentations and briefings, as well as travel to client locations nationwide. A degree in Computer Science is a plus, but is not required. Desired certifications include: CISSP, CISA, or SANS GIAC.        

U.S. citizenship is required and the security engineer must be able to get security clearance for access to government facilities. Candidates with current (within last 3 years) DOD Secret or TS/SCI clearance will be given highest priority. Pay is commensurate with experience.
