Stephen Knapp has focused on information security for over 5 years. In 1997, he became the product manager of the firewall systems at a large enterprise and led the deployment in three national security perimeters. Later, he was on the team that evaluated several leading IDS vendors, and provided consulting services for their deployment. He then continued on in 2000 to do consulting for large eCommerce and financial B2C and B2B implementations. In the last few years, he has managed the security team at an ISP, and designed and implemented portions of their networks in multiple cities across the US. The knowledge Stephen has acquired, combined with his ability to speak at the technical level of his audience and to sense and address their issues, has enabled him to curb failure scenarios and enhance success. Stephen sits on the University of Washington Data Communication / Network Advisory Board, quickly rises to leadership in new Situations and has acquired enough security experience over the years to become a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP).
