Date: Fri May 23 2003 - 11:37:07 EDT Heya all, I have some quick housekeeping notes.
A few people have complained that they see people post either the same req's or resumes several times over the period of a month or more. This is acceptable behavior. I've noticed that the people that tend to complain are the people that have been on the list for a year or some cases up to 4 years. While I think it's great people follow the list like this please realize it primary purpose is for hiring or being hired and as such the majority of the list is transient (or should be). As such, multiple postings are encouraged if people do not get their desired results. 2. Locations Please ALWAYS note the location of the req or your personal desired location. 3. Attachments The list does not support (or rather I will not approve) posts with attachments unless they are plain text. Outside of virus concerns the list pumps out something like 60,000 messages a day on average (and it's one of the smallest lists here with about 11,000 people) and bandwidth is not free. URL's pointing to your content are better for both of us. 4. Replies to public req's. Often people reply to job offerings and CC the list. Please don't because I might just approve them by accident and I've no desire to embarrass you or your possible future employer.
Cheers,
