Security Engineer position in Knoxville, TN

We have an immediate opening for a security engineer with an emphasis on integration. This is a permanent position. Salary is dependent on experience. Description is below. Sword & Shield Enterprise Security, Inc. has a position available for a security professional:

Security Engineer

The successful candidate will have at least 4 years experience in IT security. This position involves supporting the design, development, integration, testing, and technical support of computer and network security solutions for both commercial and government clients. The successful candidate will be both self-disciplined to work on individual tasks and to work well in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have security experience in most of the following:        

• TCP/IP networking and network integration with routers, hubs, and switches
• Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems and security
• Programming language experience in C/C++, Java, Visual Basic, Perl
• Experience with firewall, VPN, intrusion detection, and advanced authentication technologies
• Experience with wireless LAN security (including 802.11 standards)
• Vulnerability assessment and penetration testing tools and methods
• Database and web server design and implementation
• E-Commerce architectures and web services
• RSA Keon PKI design and implementation (or equivalent PKI system)

This position requires participation in presentations and briefings, as well as travel to client locations nationwide. A degree in Computer Science is a plus, but is not required. Desired certifications include: CISSP, CISA, SANS GIAC, CCNP, or CCSA/CCSE. Additionally, candidates with product certifications for Nokia, Netscreen, or ISS will be given higher priority.        

U.S. citizenship is required and the security engineer must be able to get security clearance for access to government facilities. Candidates with current (within last 3 years) DOD Secret or TS/SCI clearance will be given highest priority. Pay is commensurate with experience.
