Symantec in Redwood City is hiring a Security Analyst/Software Engineer

This is a contract position.

As with most of our openings, we can only consider candidates local to the SF/Bay area at this time.

Duties:

This is an intermediate-level professional software engineer position that participates in the research, development, testing and maintenance of IDS signatures. Responsibilities will include researching vulnerabilities/exploits using various tcp packet debugging tools and developing algorithms/signatures to detect them.

Requirements:

Ability to be action-oriented; ability to work with minimum supervision and set priorities; excellent problem solving skills; good written and verbal communication skills; CISSP certification or computer security experience background preferred; Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
