INTERNAL APPLICATION SECURITY RISK CONSULTANT New York ,NY Financial Services Industry - AVP/VP level Compensation to be discussed individually.

My client is a global investment bank; the position is based in Manhattan.

THE ROLE: The Application Security Risk Consultant is responsible for:

Consulting with business unit managers to help understand their operational requirements, application environments, and level of security awareness

Consulting with business unit managers to heighten security awareness and assure that corporate information security policies and objectives are being met

Interfacing with internal application development teams in an effort to ensure that information security objectives are integrated into development projects and that secure coding practices are implemented

Performing vulnerability and business impact risk assessments on existing applications and application development projects

Providing subject matter expertise regarding enterprise application security and regulatory issues

QUALIFICATIONS: Background experience in application development, an understanding of development methodologies, and a deep understanding of application security issues.

Experience working in a financial service environment or applicable experience in other highly regulated industries

A strong business focus, the ability to understand complex business models and operational requirements

A risk based approach to security

Consultative / collaborative nature.

Bachelors degree required. Relevant certifications desired.
