My client is an emerging leader in the application security and software quality assurance space. This person will be responsible for leading a development team tasked with building tools that 1) can purchased and used by their clients 2) support the company’s professional services team engaged with delivering application security and software quality assurance services.

The Director of Engineering is responsible for day to day operations of the Engineering group. This includes building, retaining, and managing an effective development team; managing development of core infrastructure (including API), tools, and products in support of the Company’s services and fielding this software in a series of rapid incremental releases. The Director is responsible for creating and executing effective development and deployment plans, defining and improving the Company’s software development process, allocating development resources, and managing development risk.

The Director of Engineering must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. A successful Director will work closely with Practice Director counterparts to define tool and product requirements (sometimes based on field prototypes) that are in direct support of the Company’s services. The Director of Engineering will work closely with executives, in particular the CEO and the CTO, to envision strategic technical solutions and then make them a reality by taking the vision from concept, to plan, to architecture, and ultimately to software.

The Director of Engineering must possess a blend of hard core software technology experience, big-picture yet practical technical vision, and the ability to turn that vision into reality through superior execution. This is best demonstrated by an established track record as a software executive.

Key Responsibilities:
+Managing the engineering group of the solutions development division
infrastructure, API, and tools for the Company’s consultants to use in the delivery of Software Quality Management solutions
+Working with CEO, CTO and Practice Directors (Security and Reliability)
to elicit requirements, understand needs, and create useful software
+Creating a rapid incremental release model for fielding software

Requirements:
+5+ years experience as engineering leader (Director or VP level)
technology, including: J2EE, Microsoft .NET, C++, C
+Experience with software artifact analysis a plus
