Network Security Engineer
Location: Washington, DC

• It is preferred that candidates currently possess an active Government security clearance.
• Must possess strong hands-on experience with NetRanger (Cisco Secure) Intrusion Detection System. Experience with Gauntlet Firewall is a plus.
• Five years of general information technology experience is required, including familiarity with programming languages, data base management systems, network protocols, Unix and NT-based servers, etc.
• Two years of experience performing systems security assessments, documentation, and security upgrades for live networks, desktop systems, servers, and enterprise data bases.
• One year of task leadership and quality Assurance experience is necessary.
• Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills are necessary.
• Engineer will take the lead in all INFOSEC issues for the customer’s network security infrastructure to including supporting the firewalls, intrusion detection system, anti-virus solutions, etc.
• Engineer will be responsible for implementing Cisco Secure Intrusion Detection Systems to provide intrusion management for customer’s network infrastructure.
• Will be involved with defining systems security requirements based on customer standards for networks, servers, databases, desktop systems, etc.
• Will create and/or update operational system documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), and Operation manuals.
• Engineer will be involved in maintaining, updating and training on the system.
• Provides oral and written status reports to the Contractor's on‑site Project Manager.
