Looking for UNIX Security / Penetration Tester - UK

Hi,

I have the following position available and am looking to fill it as soon as possible.

Position: UNIX Security Engineer / Penetration Tester

Details: An excellent opportunity for a skilled UNIX engineer to focus on his Security skills and build penetration testing / ethical hacking knowledge.

Date Required: ASAP.

Location: UK, West Midlands, Birmingham based office, but UK travel expected.

Duties:

Your responsibilities will include (but not limited to)
 Delivering security consultancy work to
clients, including
 System hardening
 Ethical Hacking, Penetration testing and
Vulnerability scanning
 Intrusion Detection system installation
 Scripting (Perl & Bourne shell are most
frequent requirements)
 Internal IT design and support, including
 Scripting / programming in PERL / PHP / C /
Visual Basic. Including development of dynamic web pages and data manipulation
 UNIX / Linux system maintenance
 UNIX / Linux system installation & hardening
 Mail server support

The Unix Security Engineer / Penetration Tester reports to the operations director.

Experience and Skills Required:

 Essential
 Strong UNIX system admin skills. Including
Solaris and Linux (mainstream distributions)
 Strong Perl UNIX scripting skills.
 PHP scripting skills
 Strong knowledge of TCP/IP
 Knowledge of firewalls, IDS and other
security systems
 UNIX System hardening experience
 Desirable
 Penetration testing, ethical hacking and
vulnerability scanning
 Visual Basic programming
 C Programming skills
 Bourne shell scripting
 Windows system hardening experience
 MySQL / MS SQL / Oracle database knowledge

Personal:

This person must be a dynamic self-starter and capable of working unassisted.
Full UK driving license essential.

Package: 25 Days paid holiday a year, Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Pension, Salary £30,000 - £37,500 basic depending on experience.

This position is with a small dynamic consultancy house with a range of FTSE 500 and Local Government clients. You will be a key member of the team who contributes to the companies continued success.
