I have 11 years IT experience in both operations and sales engineering for Cabletron/Enterasys and the US Air Force. I have done the largest IDS projects around for Enterasys Networks. I hold several certifications like CCNP, ESSE, CISSP and a PE license. I am well known for my ability with our security products. Enterasys manufacturers Dragon IDS, a UNIX based intrusion detection system. I have deployed Dragon IDS at Wal-Mart, USAA, OUHSC, Duncan Regional Medical Center, Acxiom and many other large enterprises. I have written code (PERL) for Dragon IDS to enhance the product with shuts to PIX firewalls. I regularly (average 1 per month) give presentations on Intrusion Detection and UNIX security in front of audiences encompassing around 30-40 end users and business partners. Install and teach use of the Nessus vulnerability scanner for clients as a plug-in for Dragon for enhanced security. Installed Nessus / Dragon combination at Oklahoma House of
Representatives. Install and teach Apache and sendmail as needed on UNIX platforms for use by the Dragon IDS process. I also specialize in 802.1X architecture and authentication. I have also done several OSPF / VRRP designs for 3-tier enterprise networks.

Built and maintained Enterasys’ Regional Technology Center in Dallas which includes an Active Directory structure, UNIX and NT servers, and Siemens HiPath VoIP phones for demonstrations to customers and partners. Managed 802.1X authentication on that networks with backend policies for guest, administrator and employee access.  

Responsible for implementing a change in the territory from a direct approach to a channel focused approach. Responsible for recruiting and signing 4 new channel partners in territory. Responsible for training channel partners on our product line.

Systems Engineer Manager / GS-14 USAF employee (6/1999 – 2/2001)  

Manager responsible for 7 person team assigned to accomplish architecture and planning for US Transportation Command and US Intelligence Community. Project Management responsibility for integration of separate mission-specific LANs into homogeneous base LAN and system, complete with processes and documentation in a mixed NT/UNIX environment. Oversight of sub-projects including:
• Use OPNET modeling and simulation software extensively to simulate future traffic loading and base designs accordingly.
• Migration plan for USTC enterprise to Active Directory environment.
• Build up and maintenance of a MsSQL / IIS database platform to store planning data and deliver to customers in web format.      

Lead Project Engineer / GS-13 USAF employee (6/1996 – 6/1999)  

Responsible for strategic planning of the common-user data and voice network at Schriever AFB outside Colorado Springs, CO. Campus covers 50 buildings with an annual IT expenditure budget of over $7,000,000. • Author and maintain communications blueprint for Schriever AFB
• Responsible for consulting with base activity on new technologies and when / if to insert them in operational network (examples: VoIP pilot project, replacement of network core with Cisco Catalyst 6500s) • Responsible for planning growth of the telephone switch, supporting 3500 subscribers, and consulting with base on how best to merge the telephony and data networks.
• Responsible for designing and fielding campus SONET ring to serve as campus transport for ATM data and voice switch links.

• In charge of bringing ATM networking between 30 buildings at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
