Sorry Mike, but based on experience, most system admins out on the net are woefuly underqualified to properly set up the systems they administer. This seems to mostly be a result of many companies taking an approach that IT people are generic, not specific to a kind of system. So the same guy that maintains the website admins the email, DNS, fileserver, printers, routers, and runs helpdesk for end-user problems. Nobody can be an expert in everything, so they generally wind up being weak on at least one thing they do.

Sad, but unfortunately true.
