Hi,

I'm in the process of using your documentation to reattempt set up of snort.

I have a suggestion and a problem I'm hoping you can assist.

I'm am working with this document: "Snort 1.9.0 b6-228 for windows..." I am at this stage: "Enabling Snort to Run as a Service"

Everything has worked and tested ok to this point. However I got confused with the instructions at this point. I think I understand them, but then I received an error.

As when I try to start the service I get this msg:

D:\applications\snort>net start snort
The Snort service is starting.
The Snort service could not be started

A system error has occurred.

System error 1067 has occurred.

The process terminated unexpectedly.

I have not been able to determine what was the cause for this. I never have run snort as a service prior.
