Nailed the issue in a particular custom plugin. Patch sent to the author.

I prefer to not publicly disclose the details at this point of space time, to first get a chance of at least rolling an updated plugin. Also, this doesn't seem to affect all Perl / Architecture combinations, but is quite limited to some particular environment.

This is not a bug in the SpamAssassin code itself.
